Sitterly Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 2, 2026
Our Role
Sitterly is software used by independent pet care businesses. When a pet care business uses Sitterly to manage its clients, sitters, bookings, and operations, that business controls its business records and determines why the information is used. Sitterly processes that information to provide and protect the platform.
Information We Process
- Account information: name, email, phone number, role, and authentication details.
- Business information: organization settings, staff, services, schedules, policies, and branding.
- Client and pet information: contact details, service address, pet profiles, care instructions, and notes.
- Booking and visit information: requested services, dates, assignments, status, messages, photos, reports, and location data when an enabled feature requires it.
- Transaction information: invoices, payment status, refunds, payouts, and provider identifiers. Full card details are handled by payment providers rather than stored by Sitterly.
- Technical information: device, browser, IP address, logs, cookies, diagnostics, and security events.
- Communications: email, text message, support, and notification records processed through the platform.
How Information Is Used
- Provide booking, scheduling, messaging, payment, reporting, and account features.
- Carry out instructions from the applicable pet care business.
- Authenticate users, prevent abuse, secure tenant data, and investigate incidents.
- Operate support, maintain reliability, and improve platform performance.
- Meet legal, accounting, safety, and provider requirements.
Cookies and Optional Analytics
Sitterly uses essential cookies and browser storage to keep you signed in, protect accounts, and remember settings. Choosing essential only does not turn off those required features.
If you choose to allow optional analytics and browser monitoring is configured, Sitterly can use Sentry to measure browser performance. Session replay is disabled and is not collected. The protected app and admin pages do not load Google advertising or Google Analytics tags.
When browser error reporting is configured, error reports remain separate from this choice so we can find and fix crashes. Error reporting is configured to omit default personal information and scrub request bodies, cookies, sensitive headers, and the request query string before an error event is sent.
This choice is stored only in this browser. Sitterly does not create a list tied to individual people who allowed or declined optional analytics. You can change or withdraw your choice below. If Global Privacy Control is on in your browser, optional analytics remain off.
Optional analytics are not configured
This site is not asking for optional analytics in this browser. Essential sign in and security storage stays on.
AI Features
Sitterly uses artificial intelligence, called AI, in a few features. AI can turn a sitter's notes into a visit report, write a short recap of a pet's day, suggest which sitter fits a booking, and add a sentence of commentary to a revenue report. It can also help an account owner bring records in from an old system, including reading a photograph of a paper page. An account owner can turn AI features off on the AI Settings page.
When someone uses one of those features, Sitterly sends the information that feature needs to the AI provider the business has connected. That provider is OpenAI or Anthropic. A request goes only to the provider that business is set to use, never to the other one. What is sent can include pet names, breeds, the service, and the notes a sitter wrote. When records are brought in from an old system, it can include information from a file someone uploaded. The provider processes it under its own terms to return the result.
Photographed pages work differently, so here is exactly what happens. Reading a photographed page stays off until we have confirmed the zero data retention terms of the provider that business is set to use. When it is on, the provider receives the picture of the page and our instructions for reading it. It does not receive your client list, your bookings, or anything else from the account. A provider may still check an image for safety and may keep a flagged image for review under its own terms, and that is part of what we confirm before this is turned on.
Sitterly keeps what the provider read back as evidence, together with how confident the reading was and whether a person still needs to look at it. Handwriting always goes to the account owner to confirm instead of being treated as fact. Nothing read off a page becomes a record in the account until the owner approves it, and the owner can correct a reading or leave it out.
We do not opt in to let an AI provider use your information to train or improve its models, and we do not sell it. AI is a growing part of the product. When we add an AI feature that processes new information, we update this policy and change the date at the top of this page.
Companies That Help Us Run the Platform
These companies process information on our behalf, only as needed for the feature they support, and under their own terms and privacy practices. A pet care business may also connect other integrations it selects.
- Stripe and Square: card payments and payouts.
- Twilio and OpenPhone: text messaging.
- Google: calendar sync and push notification delivery when you turn on those features.
- Amazon Web Services: file storage for photos, reports, and data exports.
- Mapbox and OpenStreetMap: maps, addresses, and driving routes.
- OpenAI and Anthropic: the AI features described above, through whichever one the business has connected.
- Resend: email delivery.
- Sentry: configured error monitoring, plus optional browser performance measurement when you allow optional analytics. Session replay is disabled.
- Render: hosting, including the database that stores your records.
- Cloudflare: network protection and staff access controls.
- Apple, Google, and Mozilla push services: phone and browser notifications, when you turn them on.
Some of these run only when a business turns the matching feature on. We update this list when we add or remove a company.
SMS and Text Messages
When a user consents to SMS text messages, the applicable pet care business may send booking confirmations, reminders, schedule changes, sitter updates, and related service communications through Sitterly. Message frequency varies and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out of an applicable thread or HELP for assistance.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
Text messaging opt in data and consent are not shared with any third parties. Information is shared with the messaging companies named above only as needed to deliver the messages themselves.
Retention
Information is retained for the time needed to provide the platform, follow the applicable pet care business's instructions, maintain security and audit records, resolve disputes, and meet legal or accounting requirements. When a business closes its account, we keep the records it may still need to reach, and the records the law requires us to keep, then delete the rest.
Security
Sitterly uses administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect information, including encrypted network connections, access controls, tenant scoping, credential protection, monitoring, and secure payment provider integrations. No system can guarantee absolute security.
Access, Correction, and Deletion
Clients and sitters should ordinarily direct requests to the pet care business that manages their account. Account owners can use available platform controls or contact Sitterly for assistance. Depending on location and context, legal rights may include access, correction, deletion, or restriction of certain information. A data deletion request may be limited where information must be retained for security, legal, accounting, or dispute resolution obligations. Identity verification may be required before completing a request.
Contact
Questions about this privacy policy or a data request can be sent to support@sitterlysoftware.com. If your request concerns records controlled by a pet care business, we may direct the request to that business.
